CAL design and construction services is a dynamic, client-focused firm offering expert construction services to both the public and private sectors.

Our founder, Carlos, is a civil engineer with over 25 years of international experience, specialising in structural design, project management, contract administration, and tendering.

Since establishing the company in 2019, we have grown steadily, driven by a commitment to quality and collaboration. As of 2024, Carlos has dedicated himself full-time to the business, expanding our capacity and reach.

We work with a trusted network of local and international associates, whose expertise spans architectural design, construction innovation, and creative problem-solving for complex challenges.

Building and Management

Our approach to management and construction is firmly rooted in a "hands-on" philosophy. Our years in the industry have been shaped by the principle of "learning by doing," providing us with experience across all aspects of construction, from bricklaying to roofing. This direct involvement has ensured that we are well-versed in the finer details of the building process. Consequently, we are able to estimate and manage projects efficiently, adopting a collaborative and practical style.

Structural design

When undertaking structural design, we adhere to the fundamental principle: "Follow the loads." We apply the colour code methodology, taught to us over 25 years ago by mentors with more than 60 years of experience in structural design. We combine this traditional approach with modern structural design software and detailed sketches, offering a clear and visual understanding of the design process.

Architectural design

In line with our structural design approach, we place a strong emphasis on visual methods. We believe in iteration and thorough analysis, combining principles of good living design, interior design, and design for life with practical and economic constraints. Our designs are often developed collaboratively with freelance architects and architectural technicians, ensuring that we deliver results tailored to our clients' requirements.
